Senior IT Business Analyst (Retail Operations)

Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and bridge the gap between IT and business stakeholders at 7‑Eleven Malaysia.

Responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, conducting data analysis, and proposing solutions to enhance operational efficiency across all stores and departments.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new systems and processes, aligning with 7‑Eleven Malaysia's strategic goals and improving overall business performance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Gather, document, and manage business requirements from stakeholders across various departments and store locations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process maps, workflows, and use case scenarios to support system implementations and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications for software development or system enhancements.
  • Perform data analysis and create reports to support decision‑making and identify trends or patterns in business operations.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit requirements, validate solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including Business Requirement Documents, functional specifications, and user manuals.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide training to end‑users on new systems or processes.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to implemented solutions and business processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in business analysis and retail operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to implement and integrate new technologies or systems.
  • Support change management initiatives by communicating changes and benefits to affected stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Possess a degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the retail or convenience store industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear requirements.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, such as process mapping, requirements gathering, and data modeling.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, point‑of‑sale systems, and inventory management processes is highly desirable.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours to support system implementations.
