Job summary

A leading construction firm in Johor Bahru is looking for an experienced candidate to manage full set of accounts and daily operational tasks. Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accountancy and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry. The successful applicant will prepare financial reports, ensure tax compliance, and coordinate audits while demonstrating strong analytical and coordination skills. Knowledge in the IFCA system is an advantage, along with being cheerful and open-minded.

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in Construction for Senior Executive or 8 years for Assistant Manager.
  • Member of MIA, ACCA or equivalents preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to follow up effectively.

  • Handle full set of account and perform day to day operational works of Construction company.
  • Maintain updated accounting records.
  • Monitor and ensure Trade Receivable and Payable reconciliation are updated.
  • Preparing monthly analysis of project costing, project material quantities supplies and consumption, project’s attributable profit, estimate GP margin, percentage of completion and etc.
  • Preparation of monthly financial and management reports.
  • Prepare audit schedules and account reconciliations, to assist in audit matters (eg: preparing and providing documents to auditors) to ensure smooth and successful audit process.
  • Ensure tax compliance and coordinate year end audit.
  • Preparing yearly income tax estimation and revising tax budget.
  • Ensure tax compliance and coordinated year end audit.

  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretary, suppliers and etc.
  • Manage and monitor current accounts, daily cash positions. Ensure that company’s commitments are met and to highlight if there is a foreseeable shortage of funds or cash flow deficit.
  • Liaise with the bankers on relevant documentation (eg: prepare loan draw down letters to send to the bank) and to follow up accordingly.
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports as and when needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Accountancy or equivalent.
  • Member of MIA, ACCA or equivalents are welcomed to apply.
  • At least 5 years (Senior Executive), 8 years (Assistant Manager) of working experience in the Construction industry.
  • Have good skill in analysis, coordination and regular follow up.
  • Have knowledge in MS office.
  • Have knowledge in IFCA system will be added advantage.
