Position Summary
The role involves driving cargo revenue at the Penang (PEN) station by identifying new market opportunities and strengthening client relationships. It also includes promoting cargo products through sales calls, visits, and presentations, supporting the commercial team in achieving sales targets, and ensuring high customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly. The role requires close collaboration with Operations, other stations, Revenue Management, and Capacity Planning to optimize cargo operations, monitor key performance indicators, and prepare performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
Key Accountability
- Manage customer needs for the Penang (PEN) station, including inquiries, responses, bookings, and service recovery from cargo acceptance to final delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and freight forwarders, ensuring service excellence and effective communication to support revenue growth.
- Support the development and execution of sales and marketing plans for PEN to achieve station sales targets, optimize yield, and improve flight load factors in line with headquarters’ strategies.
- Provide accurate quotations and proposals to customers and new prospects, ensuring compliance with pricing guidelines, risk controls, and profitability requirements.
- Coordinate closely with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams on commercial and operational matters to meet shipment requirements and enhance customer experience.
- Assist in implementing systems, policies, and procedures within the PEN commercial team to improve productivity, service delivery, and operational efficiency.
- Gather and analyze business, financial, and operational data to identify commercial opportunities and support the achievement of strategic goals.
Qualifications and Working Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain and Logistics, or STPM or a related field.
- International Air Transport Association (IATA) Certification.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience cargo sales, logistics, freight forwarding, or aviation-related commercial roles, with a thorough understanding of all related processes and documents.
