Senior Executive in University Ranking and Analytics (URA)
The Senior Executive in University Ranking and Analytics plays a key role in managing and coordinating efforts to enhance the university’s position in global and national rankings. This position requires expertise in data analysis, strategic planning, and a comprehensive understanding of ranking methodologies. The Senior Executive will work closely with various departments to collect, verify, analyse, and report data, ensuring accurate and timely submissions for rankings and accreditations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Interpretation – Analysing large datasets related to institutional performance, research output, faculty profiles, student demographics, and other relevant metrics.
- Strategic Planning – Developing and implementing strategies to improve the university’s ranking across different ranking systems, focusing on areas where the institution can achieve the most significant impact; staying abreast of changes and updates in ranking methodologies used by organisations such as QS, Times Higher Education and Shanghai Ranking Consultancy.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Working with various departments within the institution (e.g., academic affairs, research, marketing) to gather data, implement strategies, and communicate results.
- Reporting and Communication – Preparing reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting the university’s ranking performance and progress; analysing the performance of peer universities and identifying best practices to inform strategic decision‑making.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Building relationships with ranking agency representatives and other stakeholders to gain insights and support for the university’s ranking goals.
- International Ranking Submission Management – Overseeing the entire submission process for international rankings (e.g., QS, THE Impact Rankings, THE World University Rankings).
- National Ranking Support – Supporting the QAC department for national ranking (e.g., SETARA, MyRA).
- Execute Ranking Initiatives – Supporting and carrying out strategic actions aimed at improving the university’s standing in key ranking systems, coordinating with relevant departments and ensuring timely delivery of activities that contribute to measurable ranking outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills – Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Strategic thinking and planning – Ability to develop and implement effective strategies to improve university performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
- Knowledge of higher education landscape – Understanding of key trends, challenges and opportunities in the higher education sector.
- Project management skills – Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with ranking methodologies – Familiarity with the methodologies used by major global and national ranking agencies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools – Experience with tools such as Excel or other statistical software.
Requirements
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business, Education Management or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Experience – At least 2 years in a similar role, with proven experience in handling national and international ranking submissions, preferably in an academic or research institution. Experience with QS Ranking is an advantage.
