Job summary

A prominent company in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager for Group Legal & Compliance. The successful candidate will handle compliance activities, provide legal counsel, and participate in due diligence studies. They should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law, with at least 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large law firm or public company. Strong knowledge of corporate law and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English are essential. Qualifications

Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Group Legal & Compliance

Reporting to the Head, Group Legal & Compliance, the successful candidate will:

Carry out compliance activities of the Company with laws, regulatory requirements, guidelines and contracts entered into by the Company.

Provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters and their implications.

Participate in due diligence studies on legal, regulatory and compliance issues to assess and manage business and legal risks.

Maintain current knowledge of changes in legislations and keep abreast of regulatory developments as well as evolving practices in corporate governance.

Keep informed on industry changes, trends and best practices.

Advise on, negotiate, draft and solidify contracts or other legal documents.

Communicate and negotiate with external parties, creating relations of trust.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized institution.

Minimum 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in a large law firm and/or public listed company.

Strong knowledge of corporate law and business practices.

Familiar with provisions of the Companies Act 2016.

Strong command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, both spoken and written.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong presentation and public speaking skills are definite advantages.
