Job description

As part of Ramboll, we can offer the opportunity to work in a leading international consultancy on a range of interesting projects in Malaysia and internationally, in an inclusive and high-performing environment. The role will be based from our Kuala Lumpur office, on a full-time basis, with opportunities to work on projects from our Asia Pacific offices, in particular Hong Kong office.

Projects in Hong Kong revolve around luxurious residential developments, A-grade commercial buildings and large-scale government studies.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Collaborate with project team i.e. architects and engineers to discuss project details;
  • Analyse collected environmental and spatial data, such as site background information, historical land use plans and aerial photos;
  • Review drawings and modelling simulations prepared by technical staff;
  • Prepare written technical reports (including air quality, air ventilation, noise, water quality, etc.) based on collected data, simulation and drawings;
  • Present findings to clients and project team; and advise solutions and strategies to meet statutory regulations and/or policies;
  • Liaise with government departments on proposed strategies; and
  • Prepare submission packages for environmental assessments and green certification programmes.

We are looking for someone who is keen to work on a diversity of real estate projects and in a variety of sectors to enhance environmental performance and sustainability. You will become part of our growing Impact Assessment team, focusing on identifying, analysing and managing environmental and social risks and sustainable impacts. This encompasses scoping and planning baseline studies, conducting fieldwork, data analysis, computational modelling and visual representation of technical data, developing management plans, providing guidance to clients, among others. Thematically, we are looking for someone with an existing and / or emergent expertise in the following areas – environmental assessment; social impact; biodiversity; water resources; air quality; noise; ESG; and climate risk.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (environmental, engineering, science) and 5-6 years of qualifying experience in the environmental assessment fields.
  • Master’s degree in an environmental discipline
  • Understanding of environmental assessments, energy transition and sustainability regulatory and market-driven trends facing our clients in key sectors such as real estate and renewables
  • Ability to travel and be an active member of our team supporting the business in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Excellent English language (spoken and written). Fluency in at least one Asian language (Cantonese, Mandarin, etc).
Bonus Qualification / Skills:
  • Master’s degree in an environmental discipline
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other simulation tools
  • Accredited Professional in Green Certification e.g. LEED, WELL
