Senior Education Counsellor – Student Recruitment & Experience (PG)

As the Senior Education Counsellor (SRE-PG) we are responsible for assessing, planning, developing opportunities, and executing recruitment strategies to attract postgraduate students in alignment with Taylor University’s annual and long‑term goals.

We develop and manage corporate‑sponsored and partnership recruitment efforts, identifying and cultivating relationships with industry partners, government bodies, and other stakeholders to drive enrolments from corporate and professional segments.

We are accountable for achieving individual targets for postgraduate and corporate‑sponsored enrolments and contributing to institutional goals of Taylor University and Taylor’s College. Additionally, we support the team sales targets by actively contributing to the department’s sales pipeline (Leads, Contacts, Appointments, Visits, Enrolments, and Registrations) for postgraduate programmes, ensuring alignment with the overall sales objectives of the university.

Key Result Areas / Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative business development strategies to market and promote the courses and programmes offered by the university to educational institutions, private and public organisations.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies for the Malaysian market to increase student enrolment across postgraduate programmes at the university and its college.
  • Strategise and implement sales and marketing plans for targeted markets, working closely with the Institutional Marketing Department.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date listings of organisations to receive updated marketing materials and collaterals.
  • Identify and contact private and public organisations to present and promote university courses and programmes.
  • Provide marketing materials and collaterals to clients in private and public organisations.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with industry, professional bodies, and government agencies concerning student recruitment.
  • Plan, implement and participate in major student recruitment activities such as education fairs, open days and special events.
  • Support marketing activities and develop network links to raise awareness of university programmes.
  • Advise prospective and newly admitted students about postgraduate programmes and non‑academic matters across the university.
  • Research potential markets, gather and analyse competitor information, and keep market analysis updated to stay competitive with top universities.
  • Track current trends and developments in the education industry and present recommendations for marketing and promotions.
  • Assist in the development of marketing and promotional materials across media to support the university’s marketing activities.
  • Undertake other projects assigned by management as required.

Job Specification – Minimum Requirement
  • Minimum Academic/Professional Qualification: Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Minimum Experience: At least five (5) years working in marketing, promotion and public relations within a target‑driven sales environment.
  • Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
    • Knowledge of and skills in using computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
