The People Insights & Analytics Data Science Lead will champion the use of people data and advanced data science methodologies to drive decision-making at all levels within bp. As part of the People, Culture & Communications (PC&C) team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering data-driven insights and solutions to support bp's strategic objectives. You will be a committed Data Scientist with a curious mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and eager to experiment with innovative approaches. Your strong background in analyzing and interpreting data to develop actionable insights and test hypotheses will be key to your success. With a remit that extends beyond PC&C to partners across Communications & External Advocacy (C&EA), Ethics & Compliance (E&C), and Safety & Operations (S&O), you'll need deep people analytics expertise and exceptional storytelling skills. Within a passionate and collaborative environment, you will work to raise the analytics capabilities of HR teams, business leaders, and bp's thriving analytics community.

What you will deliver
  • Sophisticated Analytics and Research: Design and implement advanced people analytics projects to address hypotheses.
  • Apply strong statistical and machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights that drive business outcomes.
  • Develop predictive models and leverage machine learning capabilities for deeper data analysis.
  • Partner with diverse business partners across PC&C, C&EA, E&C, and S&O to deliver high-impact insights.
  • Manage and influence relationships, optimally communicating findings through compelling storytelling.
What you will need to be successful
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in statistics and analytics within established organizations.
  • Proficiency in data science tools and platforms.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in NLP methodologies and modeling.
  • Experience working with NLP libraries and frameworks.
  • Experience in data quality control, validation, and linkage, with a clear understanding of data protection principles.
  • Strong skills in data visualization and the ability to produce clear graphical representations.
