Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the full scope of accounting functions for logistics operations in Klang City. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and cost control. Responsibilities include managing accounts, payroll processing, financial statement preparation, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian standards. The position requires a degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of relevant experience and logistical industry insight.

Job description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced and independent Senior Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting functions for our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and cost control within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Well-versed in Malaysia LHDN e-Invoicing framework and implementation
  • Experience in e-Invoice system integration or process implementation
  • Handle full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation and month-end/year-end closing
  • Monitor, review and control sales invoices and supplier invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing
  • Handle and oversee monthly payroll processing, including statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, HRDF) and payroll reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and variance analysis
  • Monitor cash flow, operational costs and profit margins related to logistics activities
  • Prepare and submit SST, withholding tax and other statutory filings accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, bankers and regulatory bodies
  • Manage fixed assets and ensure proper accounting records
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Improve accounting processes, internal controls and reporting efficiency
  • Support management with financial insights and ad-hoc reporting
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA is an advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in handling full set accounts
  • Prior experience in logistics / transportation / supply chain industry is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and statutory requirements
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
