A global supplier of household products and tools is seeking an experienced Head of Sales in Johor, Malaysia. You will lead and mentor a sales team, develop sales strategies, and manage customer relationships. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in sales management, a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, and be fluent in English and Chinese. Alton Intelligent Technology Sdn. Bhd. is wholly foreign‑owned by Alton Industry Ltd., a U.S.–based global supplier of household products and industrial tools, with a total land area of 45.25 acres.
The Malaysia base has established a comprehensive complex of six full‑featured factories that integrate motor assembly, sheet metal processing, injection moulding, general assembly lines, and automated intelligent warehousing.
The complex also includes a five‑story modern office building, two three‑story canteens and activity centers, and four five‑story dormitory buildings.
What You’ll Be Doing:Lead, coach, and supervise Sales Engineers and sales support staff to ensure high performance and consistent execution.
Develop and implement sales plans, customer strategies, and annual sales targets aligned with company objectives.
Monitor sales performance, order pipeline, and key customer accounts, ensuring timely issue resolution.
Serve as the key escalation point for major customer issues, negotiations, and critical decisions.
Maintain strong relationships with U.S. retail customers through regular communication on pricing, specifications, delivery, and quality matters.
Oversee quotation strategies, contract terms, and commercial negotiations to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
Lead customer visits, factory tours, audits, and high‑level technical or commercial discussions.
Ensure customer feedback and complaints are properly addressed and closed in a timely manner.
Supervise order intake, review, and system entry to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate customer requirements with R&D, ensuring feasibility evaluation, product development progress, and on‑time completion.
Oversee change management during production and ensure clear communication with all relevant departments.
Ensure smooth coordination with production, planning, purchasing, quality, and logistics teams for on‑time, compliant deliveries.
Act as the main sales interface between customers and internal departments, aligning priorities and resolving conflicts.
Ensure effective collaboration with logistics and shipping teams for container sea freight delivery schedules.
Participate in internal reviews related to product development, quality issues, and supply chain risks.
Review and approve quotations, technical proposals, and key sales documentation.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer performance; provide insights and recommendations to management.
Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, and sales reports.
Bachelor’s degree or above in business, engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, or order management within manufacturing or OEM environments.
Prior experience leading or mentoring a sales or sales support team.
Strong understanding of product development processes, manufacturing operations, and international trade practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
Strong cross‑cultural communication and negotiation skills; familiar with international business etiquette.
Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written).
