The Role

The Sales Account Executive is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of AspenTech software solutions and professional services. This customer-facing role requires self-motivated individuals with excellent business and sales knowledge. The Sales Account Executive will use consultative skills to position AspenTech solutions, renew existing accounts, and grow our business. They will manage assigned accounts and opportunities to maximize revenue and deepen customer relationships, coordinating with marketing, pre-sales engineering, and development teams.

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be proactive and motivated, outcome-oriented, and capable of strategic account management, accurate sales forecasting, and pipeline management. This role involves frequent travel within the South East Asia region.

Your Impact
  • Outcome orientation: Achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas with reliable forecasts.
  • Pipeline management: Develop and advance sales pipelines effectively.
  • Execution: Manage daily sales activities, coordinate meetings, and utilize sales support resources.
  • Forecasting: Provide updates and forecasts to sales and executive management, utilizing SalesForce.com.
  • Collaboration: Lead and coordinate multidivisional account teams to ensure customer success.
  • Strategic Account Management: Develop relationships with C-level executives, aiming to be a trusted advisor and secure referenceable customers.
What You'll Need
  • Act with integrity, honesty, respect, and common sense.
  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in software sales, preferably with industrial or application software and experience selling to industrial customers.
  • Proven success in software sales or consultative selling roles, with a track record of exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and managing complex sales processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Considerations
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, industrial, production, or petroleum engineering.
  • Experience selling to customers in the chemical, energy, petroleum, or engineering industries.
  • Familiarity with process modeling, advanced process control, real-time optimization, manufacturing execution systems, planning and scheduling solutions, and asset performance management including prescriptive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of upstream or process industries.
