Job description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to oversee and implement workplace safety initiatives in our manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, DOSH requirements, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 (EMS) standards while promoting a strong safety culture across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the company’s Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, DOSH regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain safety documentation, registers, and audits under IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments (HIRARC), job safety analysis, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Lead and participate in safety committees, internal audits, inspections, and emergency drills.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑miss cases and recommend preventive actions.
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees.
  • Ensure proper management of chemicals, waste, PPE, machinery guarding, and emergency response systems.
  • Liaise with authorities such as DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, and other regulatory bodies for inspections, licensing, and renewal matters.
  • Liaise closely with the UK Safety & Compliance Team on safety performance, reporting formats, incident updates, and audit requirements.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH or working toward certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and other relevant safety & environmental standards.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and local regulatory requirements.
  • Good leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to conduct training and manage audits independently.
