Job summary

A construction company in Puchong is seeking a Safety Officer responsible for managing safety compliance and conducting site inspections. Candidates must have a Professional Certificate or higher in Occupational Safety, at least 4 years of experience in the construction field, and a GREEN BOOK. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is required. This role offers opportunities at multiple work locations and involves ensuring safety standards at all times.

Job description

Ensure reporting (occurrence of incident/accident, or routine reporting) to ESH regulatory agencies according to legal requirement and to interested parties according to their requirement

To advise and assist the Project Management team on all safety related matters

To prepare and submit monthly safety report

To conduct weekly site safety inspection and toolbox meeting

To attend fortnightly/monthly site meeting when necessary

To be part of a team that provides after hour assistance for the site on Safety and Health issues

Responsible to identify foreseeable risk arising from the workplace and work process

To perform gas test in confined space whenever required by each projects

Ensure that the confined space entry risk assessment was conducted

Recommend reasonable practice measures to eliminate, minimize or control any foreseeable risk to any person is at work or may be affected by other work process in the work place

Ensure that the company’s Safety & Health Management System is in compliance with relevant statutory requirements at all time

Any and all other duties as and when assigned from time to time by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Occupational Safety or equivalent.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

At least 4 year(s) of working experience in the Construction field is required for this position.

Must possess NIOSH certificates and registered with DOSH will be an added advantage.

Must be willing to travel to other sites.
