A manufacturing company located in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, is seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies. The ideal candidate will conduct safety inspections, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead safety training initiatives. A degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related fields along with 2-3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing is required. Mandarin-speaking candidates are preferred due to the role's requirements for communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Develop, implement, and maintain Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification for production floors, cleanrooms, and supporting areas.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOSH, and relevant Malaysian legal requirements.
Lead safety training, safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills.
Investigate incidents/accidents/near-misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Manage safety documentation, permits, audits, and ensure proper safety & environmental record keeping.
Liaise with government authorities, external auditors, and contractors on safety and environmental matters.
Support environmental compliance activities related to wastewater, exhaust systems, chemical handling, and hazardous waste.
Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing; semiconductor or cleanroom experience is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of OSHA Act, FMA, EPR, and relevant Malaysian safety regulations.
Good communication ability, strong analytical thinking, and proactive problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and facility teams.
High attention to detail, integrity, and strong commitment to workplace safety.
Candidates with CePIETSO/CePIESTO, CePBFO, CePSPO, CePSWAM, SHO (Green Book), or Poison License handling/application experience will be highly preferred.
Mandarin-speaking candidates are preferred as the role requires frequent liaison with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
