Job summary

A leading food company in Johor Bahru is looking for a Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with OSH regulations and safety standards. You will assist in conducting workplace inspections, managing the safety committee, and providing safety training to employees. The ideal candidate has a diploma in a relevant field and 1-3 years of experience in safety and environmental roles, preferably within a manufacturing setting. This position offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for independent work.

Qualifications

Job description

• Demonstrate an understanding of OSH regulations and applicable industry environmental and safety standards.
• Assist Safety, Health & Environmental Manager to collect, analyze and maintain statistics on accidents, occupational poisonings and diseases, which occurred at the plant.
• Assist in managing emergency response team and its facilities in accordance with the regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspection and work with respective area owners to develop solutions to solve unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed.
• Conduct incident investigation and generate incident report with minimal guidance.
• Assist in managing the safety and health committee and ensure the committee is active.
• Assist in any safety & environmental programs and its execution.
• Maintain safety records as required.
• Conduct training and provide guidelines to the workers on safety related matters.
• Participate, lead, or drive any committees.

Job Qualification

• Minimum, must hold a Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Environment / Chemical engineering / Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in safety and environment or related experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing practices and processes environment related to people safety.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment but also have the ability to work independently.
• Preference for food, food-related or consumer packaged goods experience.
• Has experience in conducting training in previous workplace.
• Has experience in safety and health committee and emergency response team.
