Job Purpose

Accountable to manage, develop and expand the Global Forwarding Oil & Energy business in Asia-Pacific. Providing direction and leadership to the country teams, ensuring profitable growth, market leadership and the establishment of industry leading service standards and optimum utilisation of business assets/human resources in accordance with the group business strategy and local business environment.

Accountabilities
Customer External / Internal
Key and Strategically Important Customers
  • Lead in performance improvement engagements and strategic customer interfaces with top revenue customers
  • Liaise at the appropriate level to ensure customer retention, development and growth of new business
  • Act as “focal point” for escalated issues and support to solve with operations
  • Drive issue prevention & resolution for key and strategic customers
  • Design and support to implement operational solutions for customers
  • Drive QBR/CBR process with top customers
  • Accountable for sector growth in Region
  • Identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships
  • Set strategy for the sector in the region and define customer profile
All Customers
  • Enable and facilitate the provision of services that meets or exceeds customer expectations and differentiates DHL from the competitors
Country Organization
  • Provide advice/information on local business environment to facilitate business performance review & evaluation
  • Work with country Oil & Energy Manager / Key Account Manager / M&S Manager to define and deliver business strategy to achieve sustainable business growth in country
  • Constantly scan the market to identify emerging trends and viable ventures/investment opportunities
Stakeholder (External/Internal)

Local Industry Groups, Government and Regulatory bodies and government leaders

  • Represent and promote DHL; establish contact with strategically important government officials/agencies, trade bodies and the general public relevant to the sector in order to enhance DHL’s business opportunities, brand awareness and image as the industry leader constantly scan the market to identify emerging trends and viable ventures/investment opportunities
DPWN Divisions and Business Units (BU)
  • Drive regional growth by leveraging synergies with other DPWN divisions & Business Units (CSI, MNC etc.)
  • Interface with Global Oil & Energy and other DPWN organisations/departments with respect to global/regional/country programmes constantly scan the market to identify emerging trends and viable ventures/investment opportunities
  • Participate and support cross-business unit programmes and activities which promote business integration and growth in value for DPWN and its customers Constantly scan the market to identify emerging trends and viable ventures/investment opportunities
Country Sector Heads / Responsible
  • Lead the annual sector planning process, challenging targets and assumptions provided
  • Review performance and jointly develop rectification plans to address shortfalls
  • Lead and direct the determination of short and long term strategies and market approach, ensuring alignment with global guidelines
  • Work with the team to ensure achievement of business growth, revenue & profitability
Process
Business Planning
  • Explore and exploit regional growth opportunities
  • Define business strategy for realistic sales growth
  • Manage the annual planning process to ensure all countries develop aggressive but realistic plans that support the agreed strategies, maintain or improve market share and service levels, whilst meeting contribution levels to the network
  • Ensure that the organisation is sensitive to emerging customer, market requirements and competitive trends to facilitate effective business planning
  • Ensure the involvement of all relevant functions in the process of developing integrated business plans, e.g. Product, CS, IP
Business Performance and Results
  • Ensure that appropriate operational, commercial and financial KPI’s are employed across the business to provide timely effective reporting to support day-to-day management of the business
  • Ensure strategies and directions are clearly communicated and consistently implemented in all countries
  • Actively promote the exchange and adoption of Best Practices within the region to leverage collective learning and improve consistency and productivity
  • Manage the improvement of Customer Satisfaction over time
Requirements for the Job
  • 8-10 years experience in Commercial and Management Roles of large and complex service related businesses, preferably in the Logistics Industry and/or with MNC’s in an administrative and support role
  • Experience in the Oil & Energy Logistics sector/Experience as account manager /Tradelane development manager
Geographical Experience
  • Work experience in the Asia Pacific region would be a distinct advantage
