Why This Role Is Critical
We are not looking for a purely theoretical researcher or someone who only writes reports.
We are looking for an execution-driven R&D professional who can truly build products:
• Support retort, stability, and ingredient compatibility testing
• Prepare real, usable technical documents (BOM, SOP, COA)
• Act as the execution engine under the CEO’s R&D and product strategy
This is a hands-on role — working with real products, not just PowerPoint slides.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in functional product formulation development, including:
- Bird’s Nest RTD products
- Functional beverages
- Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale trials (bench-top & pilot)
- Prepare small batch trials (approximately 5–50 bottles/sachets)
- Measure and record key parameters:
- Brix and viscosity
- Visual stability (layering, sedimentation, colour changes)
- Support retort / thermal processing trials
- Assist in ingredient compatibility screening
- Prepare and maintain:
- Formulation sheets / BOM
- Pilot batch SOPs
- Process flow summaries
- Compile and review:
- COA comparisons
- Supplier technical documents
- Internal test reports
- Support preparation of audit-ready documentation (GMP, Halal, NPRA-related)
- Assist in evaluating new ingredients (functional actives, sweeteners, stabilizers, etc.)
- Collect and organize MSDS, TDS, and stability data
- Coordinate with:
- OEM partners
- Internal procurement team
- Assist in retort trial preparation (based on F₀ logic)
- Support product stability testing (short-term and accelerated testing)
- Record and analyze:
- Colour changes
- Texture and mouthfeel changes (bird’s nest strands)
- Pre- and post-process deviations
- Support Marketing with technical explanations (ingredient logic, claim basis)
- Provide technical backup for regulatory documentation
- Assist in preparing technical materials for:
- Investors
- OEM clients
- Strategic partners
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- Food Science / Food Technology / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Nutrition
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
- Food R&D
- Beverage or nutraceutical manufacturing
- Laboratory or pilot plant environment
- Fresh graduates with strong hands‑on exposure may be considered
Must-Have Skills
- Comfortable working in both lab and factory environments
- Understand basic concepts such as solubility and thermal processing
- Good Excel skills and strong documentation discipline
- Able to follow strict SOPs and structured processes
Added Advantage (Not Mandatory)
- Knowledge of functional ingredients
- Familiarity with GMP / Halal / NPRA requirements
- Experience with bird’s nest or herbal products
