R&D Hardware Test Engineer (Instrument Test)

Agilent currently has a position for Research and Development Hardware Test Engineer. This position is based in Penang, Malaysia and will be working on new products in the Life Sciences field.

Responsibilities
  • Strategize and develop executable test plan to meet project achievements.
  • Develop test concepts and test cases based on the product requirements and specification to verify the compliance of product functionalities, performances, qualities and reliabilities.
  • Execute engineering tests, verification tests, characterizations, cyclic and reliability tests as developed and derived in the test cases.
  • Co‑develop hardware test jig and fixtures with R&D designer and vendors.
  • Lead test result reviews with partner, compile and write test report.
  • Handle test documentation to meet process compliance and audit need.
  • Investigate failure, verify issues, drive debug and propose resolution of exciting issues to ensure successful release of products.
  • Communicate and collaborate with diverse and global teams (PM, Marketing/internal customers, Mechanical engineers, Application engineer, Hardware engineer, Firmware, Software engineer, production engineer and etc.) and external teams (suppliers, design partners, contract manufacturers, etc.).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Typically 6 years of experience in R&D, NPI or Test Engineering.
  • Good knowledge in basic electronic (DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer and etc.), mechanical (positional, cyclic, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, altitude, etc.) testing methodology.
  • Good knowledge of C/C++/C# programming. Experience programming in Visual Studio .NET environment is an advantage.
  • Experience with design/ testing of automated equipment, robotics and other instrumentation is added advantage.
  • Good organization, planning, interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills coupled with a detailed approach to root cause failure analysis.
  • Able to adapt well in a dynamic working environment, eager to learn new knowledge and able to work independently.
