Job summary

A growing construction firm in Penang is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage contract and cost administration for construction projects. The ideal candidate will conduct tender preparation, support cost control, and ensure compliance with specifications and timelines. A minimum Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields is required, along with 2–4 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is also essential.   • 1. To manage contract and cost administration for ELV and construction-related works.
  • 2. To ensure accurate cost control, budgeting, and reporting for project and site operations.
  • 3. To conduct tender preparation, evaluation, procurement, and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • 4. To support technical and ELV-related evaluations, drawings, and documentation.
  • 5. To ensure compliance with project specifications, timeline, and financial requirements.
Job Requirement
  • To perform quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • To assist in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and pricing schedules for tenders.
  • To support cost build-ups, rate analysis, and margin verification.
  • To assist in monitoring project budgets against tendered costs.
  • To assist in preparing, pricing, and evaluating variation orders (VO).
  • To support preparation of progress claims, interim valuations, and final accounts
  • To obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for costing and VO purposes
  • To coordinate with Project, Procurement, and Engineering teams on cost and quantity matter.
  • To maintain proper QS documentation, records, and cost files.
  • To assist in preparing QS reports, cost summaries, and claim status updates.
  • To support post-tender and post-project cost reviews.
  • To comply with internal procedures, approval limits, and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • To carry out other QS-related duties as assigned by the Tender & QS Manage
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of working experience in QS or cost management Experience in project-based, construction, ELV, ICT, or infrastructure works is an advantage
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Hands‑on experience in pre- and post‑contract management in fast‑track projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing and reviewing technical drawings.
