A leading electrical contractor in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor responsible for handling pre- and post-contract activities including tender preparation and cost estimation. The role includes leading a team in ensuring project profitability and overseeing commercial strategies. We are expanding our Tender & Contract / QS Department and looking for talented individuals to join our team — from executive to managerial level — to strengthen our tendering, costing, and contract management functions.
Responsible for handling all pre- and post-contract activities including tender preparation, cost estimation, procurement coordination, progress claim, variation order, and final account.
At the managerial level, the role also involves leading a small team, overseeing commercial strategy, and ensuring project profitability.

Review tender drawings, specifications, and BOQ to determine project scope.
Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender pricing for electrical works (MV, LV, ELV, lighting, power, etc.).
Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations; negotiate best pricing.
Prepare tender documents, clarifications, and submission packages.
Attend tender interviews and liaise with consultants or clients.
Review and interpret contract terms; manage commercial risks and correspondence.
Estimate the costs for labor, materials, and equipment required for M&E services.
Monitor project expenditure, manage cost control, and provide accurate financial reporting.
Prepare cost reports, valuations, and forecasts for M&E projects.
Identify potential cost savings and risk mitigation strategies.
Provide monthly cost reports and profitability analysis.
Lead and supervise QS, and tender staffs in all pre- and post-contract activities.
Review and approve cost estimates, tender submissions, and contract documents prepared by team members.
Develop departmental SOPs, pricing strategies, and cost databases.
Advise management on commercial and contractual matters.
Participate in strategic tender planning and negotiation.
