Job description

Have experience being a Quantity Surveyor for more than a year

  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs for the projects
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
  • Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project
  • Select subcontractors, agree the scope of services and allocate work
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers
  • Select and/or source construction materials
  • Measure and value the work done on site
  • Advise on any outstanding contractual claims remaining
  • Assessment of contractor’s claim
  • Dealing with contractual and legal matters
  • Run cost analyses for ongoing repair and maintenance work
  • Preparation of final account and final details Bill of Quantities (BQ)
  • Act as financial advisors and monitor progress for the client
  • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents
  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets
