Job description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for estimating and controlling project costs to ensure they remain within budget. You will play a key role in pre-bid project budgeting, engaging in project tendering, and refining cost estimation models. This is an onsite position based in Penang, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and control project cost, ensuring project remains within budget.
  • Estimate and set pre-bid project budget, including bargaining with sub-contractor, comparing and analyzing price quotations, and preparing project cost estimation.
  • Investigate on project site, track the supporting policy, labor supply and material price.
  • Engage in project tendering, prepare BOQ and quotation, and refine cost estimation model to improve precision.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above in quantity surveying, M&E engineering, project management or other related fields.
  • Min. 5 + years of experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry, preferably in industrial DB/EPC project.
  • Proficiency in FIDIC contract T&C, familiar with policies on international tariff, taxation and labor.
  • Familiarity with taxation policy, contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance of project tendering.
  • Ability to negotiation, coordination, teamwork, solve problem and handle emergencies.
