The Role

The QA Technician & Measurement is responsible for performing and supporting quality inspection, measurement, and verification activities within the molding department. This role ensures that products meet established quality standards and customer requirements through systematic inspection, data analysis, and process validation.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in injection molding quality control, strong understanding of inspection systems, and the ability to operate precision measuring equipment such as CMM and Smart Scope. Accuracy, technical skill, and proactive teamwork are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Support
  • Supervise and support QC Inspectors in performing daily inspection tasks.
  • Verify molding activities comply with standards, inspection plans, and quality plans.
  • Monitor and ensure product quality conformance for in‑process and finished goods.
  • Perform sampling re‑verification of part inspections conducted by QC Inspectors.
Measurement & Validation
  • Perform product First Article Inspection (FAI), Cpk studies, and trial run measurements where applicable.
  • Conduct machine and process capability studies (Cpk, GR&R) when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date inspection results through SPC monitoring systems.
Audit & Quality Assurance
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to quality plans and standards.
  • Verify that containment and corrective actions are effectively implemented to address failures or customer complaints.
  • Follow up on problematic lots until proper disposition or rework is completed.
Training & Equipment Maintenance
  • Conduct measurement and inspection training for QA Inspectors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and verification of gauges and measurement tools in QA Moulding (every 6 months).
  • Ensure all measurement equipment is calibrated and functioning accurately.
Other Duties
  • Ensure the Inspection Plan file is properly maintained and updated.
  • Perform other quality‑related duties as assigned by the Quality Engineer or superior.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar quality or measurement environment, preferably in injection molding.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and common defect types.
  • Skilled in operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Smart Scope.
  • Familiar with SPC monitoring, FAI, Cpk, and GR&R studies.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work night shifts and weekends when required.
