Job summary

A quality management company in Malaysia is looking for a Quality Management Specialist to oversee product quality and manage the quality system. This position requires expertise in mechanical inspection and the ability to lead a team. Job description

This position is responsible for overall product quality meeting customer requirement. The quality aspect includes inspection, calibration, document control and quality system as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Experience in Job Shop environment- high mix, low volume, rigid quality criteria.

Hand on mechanical inspection capability, including hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, pins, fixtures, CMMs, etc. The position requires doing as well as managing.

Expert level understanding of Blueprint and GD&T and ability to ensure others fully understand.

Full understanding of problem solving skills such as Process Mapping, Fishbone Diagrams, etc, and ability to convey knowledge to others.

Full Root Cause analysis skills, and ability to prepare clearly communicated 8D or similar quality resolution presentations to customers.

Management of other people in department- positive, accountability

Management Team- ability to help lead organization and provide positive direction for overall company.

To be appointed as Quality Management Representative (QMR) for Foresight Asia Pacific ensuring:

QMS system conform to the requirement of relevant International Standard certification.

Report QMS performance and opportunities for improvement to top management.

Integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes to the QMS are planned and implemented.

Organizational freedom and unrestricted access to top management to resolve quality management issues.

Liaison with external parties on matters relating to QMS.

Qualifications

Associate Degree, or equivalent certification (eg. ASQ CQE), or minimum 5 year(s) experience in mechanical part quality assurance industry.

Minimum 2 year(s) experience in people managing role.

Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.

Familiar with ISO 9001/AS 9100 requirements and implementation.

Understanding of metrology and Measurement System Analysis.

Understanding of quality tools eg. Fish Bone Diagram, Why-Why Analysis, DOE, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan etc.

Understanding of 8D Problem Solving Tools.

Familiar with working concept of CNC machine centers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
