Job description

The Quality Control (QC) Assistant shall play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and freshness for our imported fresh fruits. The QC Assistant will work closely with the QA QC Executive to perform inspections, tests, and evaluations of fresh fruit products throughout the supply chain. The QC Assistant shall need to pay attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and ability to work effectively within a team will be essential in maintaining our commitment to delivering premium‑quality fruits to our customers.

Inspection and Evaluation
  • Assist in conducting visual inspections of incoming fresh fruit shipments to assess quality, freshness, and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform sensory evaluations and organoleptic assessments to detect any signs of spoilage, damage, or defects in fresh fruits.
  • Utilize testing equipment and tools to measure attributes such as sugar content, acidity, ripeness, and firmness of fruits.
Sampling and Testing
  • Perform sensory evaluations, laboratory tests, and organoleptic assessments to assess fruit quality, freshness, and ripeness.
  • Assist in collecting samples of fresh fruits for laboratory testing, including microbiological analysis, pesticide residue testing, and quality parameter testing.
  • Follow established sampling procedures and protocols to ensure representative samples are collected for accurate testing and analysis.
Record‑Keeping and Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection results, test data, and documentation of non‑conformances.
  • Enter data into quality management systems or databases and generate reports as needed to communicate quality findings to relevant stakeholders.
Compliance and Follow‑Up
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer specifications for fresh fruit products.
  • Notify the QAQC Executive of any quality issues or non‑conformances identified during inspections or testing.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Support and Training
  • Support the QAQC Executive in providing training and guidance to warehouse staff and other personnel involved in handling and storing fresh fruits.
  • Assist in promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization by raising awareness of quality standards and best practices.
Other Duties
  • Support warehouse operations during peak periods.
  • Provide assistance to walk‑in customers as required.
Job Requirement and Qualification
  • Diploma or equivalent; in food science, agriculture, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years working experience
  • Previous experience in a quality control or food inspection role, preferably in the food industry or fresh produce sector.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and food safety principles.
  • Basic understanding of fresh fruit varieties, characteristics, and quality parameters.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and document inspection and testing results.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures, technologies, and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize tasks effectively.
