A precision engineering firm in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and mentor the QA team while developing quality procedures and conducting inspections. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in quality management within a precision metal fabrication or machining environment. Responsibilities include managing quality documentation and leading root cause analysis for non-conformances. Excellent communication and project management skills are essential for success in this role.
Manage and mentor QA team, including section head, engineers and inspectors.
Conduct internal training on quality standards, inspection techniques, and proper use of measuring equipment.
Develop and update quality policies, procedures (SOPs) and work instructions relevant to machining, welding, forming, and finishing processes.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for internal and external non-conformances (NCRs).
Oversee Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection of fabricated components (e.g., sheet metal, machine parts, weldments).
Oversee the development and maintenance of precision tools like CMMs, micrometer, calipers, gauge blocks, and specialized fixtures.
Act as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and facilitate required quality documentation (e.g., Material Certifications, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), Dimensional Reports).
Monitor and analyze key quality metrics (e.g., Defect Rate, Customer Rejection Rate).
5+ years in Quality Management, with significant experience in a precision metal fabrication, machining, or welding environment.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose effective solutions.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and process optimization techniques.
Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to adapt to new technologies, processes, and industry trends.
