Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Penang is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead M&E projects. The role requires at least 5 years of project management experience and a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the M&E or construction industry.
• Strong background in semiconductor / industrial facilities projects is highly preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities)

• Lead and manage projects involving M&E works including utilities piping installation, HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, cable containment, steel structures, and architectural coordination.
• Plan and execute process utilities and electrical facilitation such as PCW, CDA, city water, exhaust, RODI systems, power supply to equipment, ELV systems, and ICT cabling.
• Monitor and drive project progress to meet milestones and deadlines while ensuring high quality, safety, and compliance with specifications.
• Act as the primary liaison with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless M&E coordination.
• Review and approve project documentation including method statements, single line diagrams, shop drawings, load schedules, T&C checklists, and progress reports.
• Ensure all works comply with contract requirements, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations, local codes, and international standards.
• Oversee site operations and monitor contractor and team performance to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality execution.
• Lead technical discussions to resolve M&E design and site issues effectively.
• Manage procurement of materials, switchgear, equipment, and manpower, aligning with project budgets and schedules.
• Oversee financial and resource planning to ensure project profitability and effective cost control.
• Prepare and review tender submissions, BOQs, and quotations for upcoming M&E projects.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, claims, and handover documentation.
• Mentor and supervise project engineers and site teams to ensure alignment with company standards and project objectives.

What do we need from you (Job Requirements)

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical background is an added advantage).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the M&E or construction industry.
• Strong background in semiconductor / industrial facilities projects is highly preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong project planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (M&E drawings), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiar with M&E design software.
• Solid commercial and contractual awareness.
• Good knowledge of electrical regulations (ST), mechanical codes, and industry standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Languages: Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to travel as required.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
