A leading appliances manufacturer in Shah Alam is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Production Manager. The successful applicant will oversee the development of manufacturing processes, coordinate resources, and ensure efficiency while controlling costs. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in planning, procurement, or process engineering, along with a degree in finance or engineering. Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach are essential for success in this position.
Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
Resource Allocation:
Evaluates performance against production targets and adjusts resources, including shift scheduling and overtime, to optimize efficiency and cost.
Cost and Budgeting:
Develop operational budgets and control costs within budget.
Planning & Monitoring:
Plans, monitors, and controls the means of production costing to deliver products profitably and efficiently.
Strategic Improvement:
Keep abreast with latest manufacturing technologies and systems to improve processes. Analyze manufacturing data and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Works closely with other departments, such as the planning, engineering and Assembly team, to ensure deadlines are met and to coordinate on various aspects of production process requirement study.
Leads and supervises the production team, taking ownership for their department's efficiency and KPI target.
Communication:
Conducts team meetings, ensures clear communication with the team and stakeholders, and maintains strong interpersonal skills.
3 to 5 years working experience in Planning, Procurement, Finance executive and Process engineering is preferred.
Education background from Finance, Business Admin, Math/Statistics science, and Engineering Degree will be relevant for this position.
Knowledge and work experience in Procurement, Costing, Headcount planning, Manufacturing/Operations are suitable experience will be able to excel in this position.
Experience in Project Management with Project Management Professional Paper (PMP) is also an added advantage.
This job requires extensive communications with multi department and management hence capability to accurately convey message, convince while being assertive to achieve objective will be key.
This job requires a hands‑on person which is willing to go the extra mile during business planning and monthly/quarterly closing report to both local and Japan managements.
