Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is looking for a candidate to ensure production quality through inspection and rework processes. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in a relevant field and 1-2 years of experience in the plastic industry. Key responsibilities include monitoring operations and participating in quality improvement projects. Good analytical and communication skills are essential. The ideal applicant will work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the plastic industry.
• Knowledge in ISO system.
• Familiar with statistical process control methods is an added advantage.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Maintain in-line inspection and rework quality
• Research and follow-up on production improvement projects
• Compile and update production operator name list and monthly attendance
• Perform stock count monthly
• Assist QA side on production finding for any quality issues
• Ensure production runs smoothly
• Perform investigation on production issues and root cause
• Monitor and record all processes’ cycle time
• Follow up and record daily tooling issues
• Participate in ITW toolbox activities
• Accept other duties assigned by the immediate superior and above from time to time
• Monitor production operation

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Science, Polymer Technology, Material Science or its equivalent
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in plastic industry
• Familiar with SPC, 8D, DOE, FMEA and other QC tools
• Knowledge in ISO system
• Familiar with statistical process control methods is an added advantage
• Good analytical skills and work independently under minimum supervision
• Good communication skills and able to interact well with all levels of employee
