Job summary

A leading technology company in Johor is seeking a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least 1 year of experience in product development or process engineering. responsibilities include supporting new product introductions, monitoring production processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with CAD software and good command of English are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in product development, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Familiarity with metal processing, motor manufacturing, or product assembly is preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD/SolidWorks/ProE/CREO.

Alton Intelligent Technology Sdn. Bhd. is wholly foreign-owned by Alton Industry Ltd. Group, a US-based global supplier of household products and industrial tools, with a total land area of 45.25 acres.

The base in Malaysia has established a comprehensive complex of six full-featured factories. These factories integrate motor assembly, sheet metal processing, injection moulding, general assembly lines, and automated intelligent warehousing.

In addition to the core production and storage areas, it also carefully designed a five-story modern office building, two three-story canteens and activity centers full of life, and four five-story dormitory buildings.

What You’ll Be Doing
Process Engineer

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and work instructions.

Design and optimize assembly, welding, stamping, and related processes to ensure process stability and feasibility.

Support new product introduction, validation, and transition to mass production.

Monitor and analyze production processes, troubleshoot abnormalities, and drive corrective/preventive actions.

Maintain and optimize BOMs, tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Assist the quality department with process quality analysis and drive continuous defect rate reduction.

Promote process optimization and material substitution to reduce production costs.

Propose process improvements and plant layout optimization; participate in lean manufacturing, 6S, and TPM activities to enhance efficiency.

Provide training for production, quality, and equipment staff on process knowledge and production standards.

Product Development & Introduction

Participate in new product development projects, managing the entire process from design transfer to mass production.

Follow up on prototype builds, functional testing, and reliability testing to ensure products meet design requirements.

Prepare, maintain, and optimize product BOMs and related technical documentation.

Develop SOPs for new products and guide production staff on operations.

Process & Mass Production Support

Collaborate with process and production departments to drive product pilot runs and mass production introduction.

Analyze and resolve process and quality issues arising during trial and mass production.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Support the quality department in product quality analysis and drive implementation of quality improvement actions.

Handle product-related technical issues from customer complaints and propose corrective solutions.

Continuously optimize product structure and design to improve reliability and manufacturability.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Project Management

Coordinate with R&D, procurement, process, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Participate in product project management, provide regular progress updates, and ensure milestone targets are achieved.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the home appliance or electromechanical industry in product development, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering. Fresh graduates with Chinese language proficiency are also welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with metal processing (stamping, welding), motor manufacturing, or product assembly (e.g., vacuum cleaners, air compressors) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of preparing process documentation (SOP, WI, PFMEA, Control Plan).
  • Familiarity with BOM management, product development process, and engineering change management (ECR/ECO) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in CAD/SolidWorks/ProE/CREO or other relevant mechanical design software.
  • Knowledge of production safety regulations, quality management tools, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong logical thinking, execution ability, and resilience under work pressure; detail-oriented with continuous learning ability.
  • Good command of spoken and written English; proficiency in Chinese is preferred for effective collaboration with China-based teams.
