Job summary

A leading technology company in Penang is seeking an individual to manage elastomer-related projects and developments in vacuum technology. You will oversee supply chain changes, ensure customer satisfaction, and prepare technical documentation. Candidates must have a degree in engineering and relevant experience in material sciences. Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in German, Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean, in addition to English.

• Manage the portfolio of vulcanized gates, spare gates, and kit plates for IDM/OEMs; support project managers during stage-gate processes, provide documentation and business case backgrounds for customer projects, and improve costs and processes.
• Lead the development and implementation of a global strategy for managing elastomer obsolescence across the organization.
• Supervise changes related to supply chain, manufacturing, and assembly processes; prepare documentation for customer-relevant changes.
• Support BU GSE and Sales Teams on technical, commercial, and operational aspects of gates (product data sheets, presentations, etc.).
• Forecast sales objectives and ensure fulfillment by business development PMs.
• Manage profitability targets for gates.
• Assist team members (OEM PMs, supply chain, project management) throughout logistics and delivery processes to ensure customer satisfaction after project acceptance.
• Prepare technical customer documentation such as manuals and product data sheets in compliance with European machinery directives for kit plates and gates.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or related engineering, preferably chemical engineering.
• Experience in material sciences, especially elastomers and polymers.
• Knowledge of vacuum technology.
• Proficiency in German, Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean, in addition to English, is an advantage.
• Experience in developing new products and solutions in high-tech environments.
• Ability to develop concepts for service delivery involving engineering and operations, and to promote new products.
