Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Executive to plan, source, and negotiate with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of procurement experience, knowledge of food manufacturing standards like FSSC 22000, and possess strong negotiation and coordination skills. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is required, along with fluency in English and BM. This role involves maintaining supplier lists, managing purchase orders, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, Halal, and MESTI standards.
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, source, and negotiate with suppliers for best price, quality, and lead time.
  • Coordinate closely with Warehouse and Production to ensure sufficient stock and uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain and update Approved Supplier List (ASL) in line with FSSC 22000/ISO 9001/Halal/MESTI standards.
  • Conduct supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and compliance checks.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
  • Monitor market trends and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC, Production, and Finance on material quality, cost, and payment matters.
