Western Digital seeks an OSA Engineer to develop and optimize PN OSA process recipes ensuring product quality and compliance.
Your role
Key responsibilities include:
- Set-up, develop, and optimize PN Media OSA recipe detection capability for existing and new products.
- Perform OSA correlation and GR&R as scheduled.
- Establish quality indicators for PN Media system.
- Execute OSA machine, capacity, pph, and utilization improvement activities.
- Align PN Media OSA recipe and improvements with Worldwide OSA team objectives.
- Participate in Worldwide OSA Team Meetings and Weekly Pre-Sputter Engineering Virtual meetings.
- Conduct technical sharing on OSA functionality topics.
- Ensure PN Media OSA practices comply with ISO requirements in collaboration with the ISO team.
- Work with EHS team to set up safety fixtures at OSA systems.
- Collaborate with equipment teams, vendors, and suppliers for OSA upgrades, development, repair, and maintenance.
- Work closely with Process Engineers and cross-functional teams to improve product defect detectability.
- Perform detailed defect characterization using OSA.
- Coordinate with FA and Contamination teams on defect feedback for deep process analysis using OSA.
- Engage early with NPI and Development teams on new product OSA requirements.
- Provide high-level technical reports and analysis on defects and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare white papers, technical reports, and documentation (SMO, TECN & PECN) for cleaning process implementation.
- Lead Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for OSA system and execute improvement actions.
- Set up auto shutdown fixtures to prevent production of bad quality parts.
- Collaborate with automation team to develop and design OSA equipment in PN.
- Develop technician technical skills related to OSA equipment and process.
- Follow all safety and health rules.
About you
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Material Science Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of HDD/Media Cleaning process and equipment is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving ability with critical thinking and workable solutions.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
- Adaptability and flexibility to learn new tools, technologies, and processes quickly.
