Job summary

A manufacturing company in Malacca is seeking an experienced engineer to support the introduction of new products and technologies into the manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with over 3 years of experience in fabrication. Job description

Support new product introduction (NPI) by development efficient process workflows with cycle time, material, treatment and harden process define start from RFQ stage.

Support the introduction of new products and technologies into the manufacturing environment.

Analyse, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Monitor process parameters and production metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for process deviations and product non-conformities.

Design and implement process improvements to reduce waste, cycle time, and costs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, 5S).

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Assist in equipment selection, layout planning, and process validation.

Train production staff on process changes and improvements.

Evaluate and specify tools, machines and material needed for manufacturing.

Control and maintain material master list.

Control and handle Engineering Change Notice process.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Solid understanding of fabrication processes (e.g., welding, cutting, forming, machining, assembly).

Experience with process analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, 5Why, Fishbone Diagram).

Proficient in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is a plus.
