Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join and work collaboratively with our successful team of school counselors at Garden International School. We are looking for an innovative, dynamic and experienced School Counsellor with the ability to work therapeutically with children in primary and secondary, with a growth mindset and high expectations.

Successful candidate must:
  • Have a proven track record of outstanding practice working with a wide variety of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
  • Have confidence in working one‑to‑one, with families and small groups
  • Be able to provide crisis intervention
  • Be able to utilise verbal and non‑verbal therapeutic approaches such as play or art
  • Be a reflective, flexible practitioner with the ability to think creatively and take risks
  • Have an ability to use ICT to support and enhance the counselling process
  • Be able to keep secure and suitable case records on each counselling session
  • Be able to engage with monthly clinical supervision with a qualified supervisor
  • Have the interpersonal skills needed to work successfully within teams
  • Have a warm and relatable personality and be able to engage and motivate children, parents and staff
