We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager who holds a valid Capital Markets Services Representative’s Licence (CMSRL) issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing client or institutional investment portfolios, developing investment strategies, and ensuring that all investment activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor investment strategies to achieve portfolio objectives.
- Conduct macroeconomic, sector, and company research to support investment decisions.
- Manage multi-asset portfolios including equities, fixed income, money market instruments, and alternative investments.
- Perform portfolio analysis, performance attribution, risk management and make presentations to the investors and advisers.
- Execute investment decisions in accordance with the CMSRL authorization scope and company’s investment mandate.
- Ensure all activities comply with SC Malaysia regulations and internal compliance policies.
- Prepare investment reports and present portfolio updates to clients, management, or investment committees.
- Collaborate with research analysts, traders, and other investment professionals to optimize investment outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, regulatory developments, and financial products.
- Manage clients’ portfolios of unit trusts, ETFs and/or direct securities such as bonds and stocks, as part of company’s discretionary portfolio management services (DPMS) offered through both the B2C, B2B and iGM business divisions.
- Manage investments and Fintech with the distribution capabilities in portals and network to deliver cost efficient investment management services to our clients.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in Fund Management and working with stakeholders.
- Valid CMSRL licence (Fund Management / Advising on Securities).
- An independent thinker with a value-oriented investment approach and with the right temperament.
- Have a good macro understanding of the global investment environment, as well as micro company fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in portfolio management or investment analysis.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and research capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CFP are an advantage.
