The Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling & coordinating production activities and material requirements to ensure efficient manufacturing.

The Role

The Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling & coordinating production activities and material requirements to ensure efficient manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
  • The Planner will develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity constraints.
  • The Planner will prepare daily/weekly/monthly work orders and master production plans.
  • The Planner will monitor production progress to ensure adherence to schedules and adjust plans when necessary.
2. Material & Inventory Planning
  • The Planner will coordinate material requirements with procurement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components.
  • The Planner will monitor inventory levels and flag shortages or excesses to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • The Planner will work with purchasing on purchase requisitions and delivery timelines.
3. Cross‑Department Collaboration
  • The Planner will liaise with Production, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, and Procurement to communicate plans and resolve scheduling issues.
  • The Planner will coordinate with sales and customer‑service teams on delivery commitments and updates.
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • The Planner will track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, inventory levels, and on‑time delivery.
  • The Planner will prepare regular planning reports and forecasts for management review.
5. Continuous Improvement
  • The Planner will suggest and implement improvements to planning processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • The Planner will support lean manufacturing and other operational improvement initiatives.
6. System & Documentation
  • The Planner will use SQL/EXCEL systems to update schedules, production orders, and material requirements.
  • The Planner will maintain accurate planning documents and logs.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • Ideally 1–3+ years in production planning, material planning, or related manufacturing operations.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in SQL systems and MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules.
Language
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous.
