Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a skilled PCB Designer to perform detailed PCB layout and footpring creation using Cadence software. Responsibilities include optimizing stack-ups from suppliers, ensuring design constraints are met, and managing complete routing processes for various designs. Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a strong background in PCB design and layout processes.

• Perform PCB layout and footprint creation.
• Request and optimize PCB stack-up from suppliers.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform PCB layout and footprint creation in Cadence (all version).
• Request and optimize PCB stack up from supplier.
• Create new component footprint when necessary.
• Set board layout constraint per electrical design requirement.
• Set component placement based on netlist generated by PCB design engineer.
• Ensure all component placement are correct and meets all constraint for the design.
• Fan out all signals from package ball map.
• Routing for all signal based on board layout constraint to achieve zero rats (all signal pins are connected) and zero DRC (design rule checks) errors.
• Perform and complete power plane design correctly based on power requirement.
• Execute and complete all routing constraint, tuning requirement and power rail constraint (copper weight, plane width) to meet design requirement.
• Review all layout deliverables including symbol and footprints, PCB layout and plot check.
• Complete board post processing activities.
• Generate gerber/ODB++ files and send final board file deliverables to supplier for review.
• Generate dxf, stp, emn, emp files from board layout design files for mechanical parts design.
• Complete PCB tape out process, answering engineering questions (EQ) from supplier if necessary.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Doctorate (PhD), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
