Operations Manager [Food Manufacturing Environment / RM10,000]

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the setup and day‑to‑day operations of a new food manufacturing facility in Johor. This role plays a critical part in managing end‑to‑end production activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence. The position requires a balance of strategic planning, strong leadership, and hands‑on operational management to support the successful launch and sustainable operation of the facility.

  • Lead overall factory operations, including production, quality control, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Manage the setup and commissioning of the new manufacturing facility, coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and relevant government authorities.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and systems to improve production efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, health, halal, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, GMP, ISO, and Halal certifications.
  • Oversee resource planning and allocation for manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse operations team through effective training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Japan‑based teams to align production objectives with overall business goals.
  • Manage the operations budget, monitor costs, and implement cost control measures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Must‑Have

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Background in Food Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in production management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven experience managing teams and complex manufacturing operations.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical abilities.
