Operations Manager [Food Manufacturing Environment / RM10,000]
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the setup and day‑to‑day operations of a new food manufacturing facility in Johor. This role plays a critical part in managing end‑to‑end production activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence. The position requires a balance of strategic planning, strong leadership, and hands‑on operational management to support the successful launch and sustainable operation of the facility.
- Lead overall factory operations, including production, quality control, logistics, and maintenance.
- Manage the setup and commissioning of the new manufacturing facility, coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and relevant government authorities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and systems to improve production efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health, halal, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, GMP, ISO, and Halal certifications.
- Oversee resource planning and allocation for manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse operations team through effective training, coaching, and performance management.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Japan‑based teams to align production objectives with overall business goals.
- Manage the operations budget, monitor costs, and implement cost control measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Must‑Have
- Minimum 7 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Background in Food Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in production management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven experience managing teams and complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
