A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a General Manager to oversee its EPCC Department. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and at least 8-10 years of experience in the construction or engineering sectors, including managerial experience. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating with project teams, and managing key functional managers. Strong communication, marketing, and business development skills are essential, along with fluency in English and Malay.
Degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering discipline with minimum 8-10 years relevant experience in a similar position in construction, engineering services, oil and gas, power plants and etc.
Min 8-10 years experience in Civil/Scaffolding and 8 years Managerial level.
Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills with multi-disciplinary engineering adaptation.
Candidate with Basic Scaffold Competency is advantages
Excellent communication skills and marketing knowledge.
Required language(s) fluent English & Malay.
Able to work independently and prefer candidate who able to travel / relocate outstation.
Responsible for leading entire Operation & EPCC Department.
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar Management role familiar with all areas of the business and can coordinate processes and operations across the organization.
Knowledge of business process and functions (sales, finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
Oversee all sites to monitor compliance with project and safety procedures & regulations.
Coordinate with Project Manager and chair site coordination with clients and the site team.
Regular updates to management on the project progression and status with regards to its completion.
Must good in customer relationship management.
Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business.
Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports and ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives
Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives in the business unit.
Good in planning, budgeting, marketing and business development skills to approach for new business and potential client.
Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary.
Monitor businesses and agencies to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
Responsible for the overall planning, execution and completion of projects which include coordination, budgeting, scheduling and achieving the targeted project profitability.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly project report.
To perform any other tasks as requested by the superiors and management and to generally perform all administrative work;
To strictly adhere to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 auditing SOP requirement and documentation.
