Qualifications

Job description

The Oncology Clinic Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to cancer patients in an outpatient oncology clinic setting. This role supports oncologists in the delivery of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical standards and regulations in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist doctors and nursing colleagues in the delivery of patient care
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and accurately record vital signs
  • Support chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and related oncology treatments under supervision
  • Learn and apply safe handling, care, and maintenance of chemo ports, PICC lines, and intravenous (IV) access
  • Provide patient education, counselling, and emotional support to patients and caregivers
  • Prepare, update, and maintain accurate nursing and treatment documentation
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members
  • Maintain nursing equipment and ensure proper use of medical supplies
  • Participate actively in on-the-job training and continuous learning in oncology nursing
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
  • Registered with Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia (Nursing Board Malaysia) with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; oncology experience is an added advantage
  • Willing and able to work clinic hours
  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Alternate Saturday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
