Job description

Non-Destructive Specialist is to perform precise non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials and components to ensure their integrity and quality without causing damage. This involves using various inspection techniques, such as ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing, while maintaining equipment readiness and compliance with industry standards. The mission of the role is to uphold safety and quality standards, support continuous improvement, and ensure that all inspections meet regulatory requirements, thereby contributing to the reliable operation and maintenance of Siemens Energy equipment.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Perform specific calibrations, NDT and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection of parts
  • Correct interpretation and understand the inspection checklist and work instruction
  • Prepare and clean parts before and/or after inspection
  • Organize, sort, and prepare the parts for NDT inspection
  • Load, unload and operate FPI, MPI, ET or UT line effectively
  • Perform either Ultrasonic Inspection, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Eddy Current Inspection, Magnetic Particles Inspection in accordance with the inspection operation sheets
  • Ensure the equipment operation readiness always
  • Assist the Engineer for any inspection evaluation and reporting
  • Upkeep of process system and testing equipment to ensure its continuous operations in compliance to approved documents
  • Conduct audits in NDT area to ensure continuous system compliance to meet regulatory agencies requirements
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of tooling and equipment
  • Strong Lean mindset and drive continuous improvement effort
  • Maintain validity of qualification in accordance with ISO9712 and OEM standards
  • Maintain good HSE standards and practices when executing task on site and off site
  • Supervise, execute and/or support any other given specialist task during scheduled or unscheduled maintenance of Siemens Energy equipment as per cross-training and multiskilling concept of Field Service in AP and relevant capabilities
What You Bring
  • Bachelor (Mechanical, Electrical and Process), experienced working professional in the power services industry is a plus
  • Qualification and certification in accordance with ISO 9712 (preferable level 2 MT, PT, and UT)
  • Qualification and certification in accordance Level 2 certification in either RT or ET is additional advantage
  • General profound understanding of technical equipment and ability to work with/based on technical documentation
  • Good general skills in mechanical maintenance activities of power generation equipment or in the Oil & Gas industry and willingness to continuously work hands-on under time pressure and in difficult conditions
  • Digital literacy, confident user of relevant IT-applications (Microsoft Office), additional IT-competence will be beneficial
  • Pro-active, problem solving and ready to work attitude, readiness to take additional tasks to improve the status Quo if needed
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards for Quality and HSE
  • Fluent in English Language (Written & Oral), other languages are beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity to technology and innovation in the service industry combined with a proactive and convincing attitude
  • Team player with high level of resilience, the ability to work independently under pressure, multitask and focus on problem solving in a complex environment collaborating with international teams
  • Willing to extensively travel internationally on short notice and work flexible hours
