We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Custody Asset Servicing Senior Supervisor (Hybrid) (Internal Job Title: Custody Asset Servicing Sr Supv – C11) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Manage reconciling and processing positions related to Corporate Action events.
  • Revise communications, notifications and facilitate postings for Corporate Action or Proxy events.
  • Supervise a small team of support staff.
  • Delegate and supervise straightforward tasks.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, promotion, compensation adjustments and termination.
  • Create and monitor appropriate metrics for the team.
  • Supervise overall operating efficiency.
  • Apply working knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts and in‑depth knowledge of team objectives.
  • Supervise the quality and service of self and others; network and navigate within the organization to troubleshoot escalated issues and bring appropriate closure.
  • Identify opportunities for implementation of process improvements, service or technology enhancements; identify control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures.
  • Train staff on new procedures or technology enhancements.
  • Create, develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Find opportunities to reduce expenses.
  • Apply basic understanding of how own area integrates within own subject area.
  • Make evaluative judgments to solve problems based on analysis of factual information; resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Directly impact by ensuring the quality of tasks provided by self and others on team are completed.
  • Exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical manner with tact and sensitivity to audience diversity.
  • Act as backup for manager and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 5-6 years relevant experience in Custody Ops.
  • Willing to work on Malaysia public holidays / extended working hours / able to work early shift (if required).
  • Prior work experience in a related job that would provide a basic knowledge of activities, policies, and procedures of the work area.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of technical and professional principles and concepts related to the business.
  • Knowledge of multiple types of investment instruments including: Equity securities, Fixed Income and Asset‑Backed securities.
  • Proven success as a team player.
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Able to work on Malaysia Public Holiday.
