Job description

Mechanical Engineer/Equipment Engineer – Prai Penang

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate machine operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Maintain effective spare part control and keep all machines in good condition.
  • Plan and control an effective preventive maintenance (PM) system.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and keep machines in tip-top condition.
  • Coordinate plant equipment with Electrical Engineer.
  • Minimize machine downtime.
  • Involve in new machine installation, operation, and testing.
  • Design and direct engineering personnel in fabrication of equipment, determine methods, procedures, and conditions.
  • Ensure highest possible product quality and adherence to Kobelco Quality System, ISO and/or other standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and practice 5S.
  • Develop and maintain effective cost control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Accountability

Will be responsible for maintaining all plant-wide equipment including facilities, continuous repeatable process with proper documentation. Will manage given project on a timely manner and keep to scope at all times.

Academic Qualification

Mechanical Degree / Diploma holder or related discipline.

Experience
  • At least 3-5 years in Steel/heavy Industrial and have knowledge in maintenance, exposure on equipment handling.
  • Fundamental of automation.
  • Effective maintenance system or TPM.
  • Jigs and tool fabrication.
  • Knowledge on Welding industry will be advantages.
  • Auxiliary equipment troubleshooting.
