The Mechanical Applications Engineer is responsible for the evaluation and specification of pipeline equipment design in relation to any intended contract. They will also be involved in any modifications to either the equipment or the client’s equipment.

As a Mechanical Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing approved tool builds to Operations on time to enable timely mobilization and running of commercial jobs.
  • Developing solutions which work first time, meeting tight timescales and budget.
  • Undertaking technical and risks assessments of information and situations arising.
  • Producing layouts, design schemes and drawings that fully define the problem and the proposed solution(s).
  • Supporting the production/manufacture/assembly of the solutions designed, overcome any problems encountered but still consider standardization, value engineering, and maintainability.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in problem solving and the ability to apply this to solve electro‑mechanical problems.
  • Have ability to work within the constraints of each project, balancing resources against timescales.
  • Have knowledge of 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design packages.
  • Have in‑line inspection experience in an operational or engineering role.
  • Able to travel to job sites to resolve problems.
