Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Specialist based in Penang

In this role, you will:

• Support complex manufacturing and assembly activities on precision electro‑mechanical components.
• Analyse engineering drawings and translate requirements into effective production processes and tooling.
• Drive new product and inter‑plant product transfer projects from end to end.
• Develop, validate and document processes for improved efficiency, yield and manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis, corrective actions and process optimisation.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including Quality, Procurement and Operations.
• Mentor and coach technicians on technical matters and best practices.
• Maintain production readiness through accurate documentation, BOM reviews and equipment support.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects and lean practices.

What You Bring

• Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5 – 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in electromechanical/motor assembly processes.
• Experience in product transfer, validation, line setup and ERP BOM configuration.
• Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.
• Solid troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
• Hands‑on experience with machining, tooling, testing or instrumentation (added advantage).
• Familiarity with shop‑floor measuring tools and CAD drafting.
• Strong communication & leadership qualities – proactive, independent and accountable.
• Lean manufacturing exposure.
