A leading educational institution in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Manager in the Reporting Department within Group Finance. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of financial statements, manage tax compliance, and ensure accuracy across group reporting. With a strong educational background in Accounting or Finance, the candidate should have at least 10 years of experience, including managerial roles. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential for delivering quality financial management.
REPORTING DEPARTMENT, GROUP FINANCE – CHANCELLERY
KEY ROLES :
Lead the preparation and timely submission of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS.
Oversee campus and subsidiary reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment with UniKL Group reporting standards.
Coordinate year-end closing, statutory audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
Ensure effective internal controls and accounting policies are developed, implemented and consistently applied across the Group.
Prepare financial analysis, variance reports and recommendations for management and Board decision-making.
Tax Management
Oversee timely and accurate preparation of all tax filings, including corporate tax, SST and withholding tax for UniKL and its subsidiaries.
Develop and implement UniKL’s tax policies, ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax laws and alignment with institutional objectives.
Identify tax incentives, exemptions and savings opportunities applicable to UniKL and spearhead efforts to maximize benefits.
Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements.
Handle tax audits and queries from tax authorities, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal risk exposure.
Monitor developments in tax legislation and update policies, procedures and reporting practices accordingly.
Support the CFO in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
Provide input on the financial and tax implications of new projects, investments and strategic initiatives.
Ensure financial and tax considerations are integrated into decision-making at the Group level.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring capability development and strong performance.
Work closely with campuses, subsidiaries and external advisors to ensure consistent financial and tax compliance.
Communicate effectively with senior management, regulators, auditors and tax agent on finance and tax matters
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree and/or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance.
Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
Must have at least 10 years of work experience, including 5 years in a managerial role.
Experienced in managing group accounts and multiple entities.
Audit background is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of MFRS/IFRS, Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and transfer pricing.
Proficient in financial systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an advantage.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
