Job description

Reporting to the Appointed Actuary, you are responsible in overseeing, reviewing and leading the Prophet and DCS management, stress testing and business plan projection.

Key Responsibilities
  • In charge of the management of the Prophet model in ensuring accuracy and consistency of the results produced by actuarial model. This is inclusive of modelling new products, supporting any enhancements, DCS modelling for model point files, and making sure a good model control is in place.
  • Ensures the workspace is ready for the reporting team for month end closing together with regression testing performed on NBEV, reserves, RBCT Risk charges and IFRS17 due to any changes.
  • Prepares of relevant documentation and proper audit trail in place.
  • Supports the consolidation of Prophet workspace model from the old workspace to the new workspace including any additional enhancements required to ensure the model is fit for purpose. Ensure workspace is suitable for all Actuarial work for instance Reserving, NBEV, RBC, IFRS17, Business Plan and Stress tests. Ensure cashflows are suitable for projection purposes, particularly Stress Test and Business plan.
  • Enhances Prophet Workspace according to development plan.
  • Modifies/Reviews the changes of Prophet workspace as per change request received
  • Involves in preparing the Business Plan cashflows and impact on CAR
  • Responsible in preparation of stress test related work such as Group Industry Wide Stress Test (IWST), Great Eastern Holdings Group Stress Test (GEH GST), FCR Stress Test, stress tests required BNM such as Climate Risk Stress Test.
  • Ensures ample and relevant documentation and proper audit trail in place.
  • Ensures pass in internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, internal governance and compliance, if any.
  • Mentors junior actuarial staff, review technical work, and foster talent development within the reporting team.
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
  • At least Degree in Actuarial Science or equivalent and good progress in exams passing.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in actuarial industry.
  • Modelling experience in Prophet and DCS.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good team player and able to lead junior team members.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the organisation’s core values through expected behaviours.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
