We are seeking a strategic and business-focused Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic HR team. Based in Malaysia, this role partners closely with business leaders and HR specialist teams to drive people strategies and embed high-impact HR initiatives across multiple APAC markets. You’ll collaborate across HR pillars to support business growth, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Strategic Business Partnering;
• Partner with regional business leaders and functional heads to align workforce needs with organizational goals.
• Provide strategic HR advice and thought partnership to balance business growth and people priorities.
• Act as the bridge between business needs and HR programs for seamless execution across countries.
Talent Acquisition Support;
• Collaborate with the TA team to ensure timely and quality hiring outcomes.
• Partner with hiring managers and TA to align hiring needs, profiles, and priorities.
• Troubleshoot challenges and influence recalibration or alternative sourcing strategies.
Performance Management & Talent Development;
• Champion performance conversations and development planning across your portfolio.
• Embed performance management and talent development frameworks into business practices.
• Coach managers on managing performance, career growth, and succession planning.
Organizational Design & Change Management;
• Advise on team structures, workforce impacts, and communication during organizational changes.
• Facilitate smooth change management and adoption of new ways of working.
Rewards, Recognition & Employee Lifecycle;
• Collaborate with C&B teams on bonus calibration, salary reviews, and recognition programs.
• Guide leaders on fair and market-aligned decision-making.
• Partner with HR Ops to ensure smooth onboarding, offboarding, and transfers.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building;
• Act as a culture ambassador reinforcing Carro’s values and ways of working.
• Surface employee sentiments and recommend engagement strategies.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and company-wide events.
Employee Relations & Compliance;
• Advise managers on employee relations, grievance handling, and compliance with labor laws.
• Partner with country HR teams to ensure legal and regulatory adherence.
Data-Driven Decision Making;
• Utilize people data (e.g., turnover, engagement scores, hiring metrics) to drive business decisions.
• Identify workforce risks early and provide proactive, actionable solutions.
Experience
5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a business-facing HRBP role.
Regional or multi-country partnering experience preferred, especially across Southeast and East Asia.
Skills & Attributes
Strong commercial acumen, collaborative mindset, and strategic HR advisory skills.
Ability to influence and align stakeholders across levels.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change with a hands-on approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Language Skills
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Proficiency in an additional APAC language (Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, Bahasa) is an advantage.
