A leading energy solutions provider in Penang is seeking a Configuration Management Manager to lead the Configuration Management team. Responsibilities include managing team performance, ensuring adherence to processes, and supporting ISO and Customer Audits. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Configuration Management, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. This talented and creative hands‑on Configuration Management Manager will be a leader and teacher to the CM team and work to develop, implement, maintain, and enforce the best Configuration Management processes. Demonstrated project leadership and/or management skills are required. This person will be responsible to ensure that Configuration Management processes are followed at all AE Worldwide facilities, which includes processes that can accommodate change, the reuse of proven standards, and best practices to ensure all requirements remain clear, concise and valid, communicates the above and ensures that results conform in each case.
Manage performance and development of all team members in the Configuration team, setting workflow priorities to minimize schedule impacts of ongoing projects, and acting as a focal point to lead, train, and teach others the processes.
Subject Matter Expert in ECO management, reviewing company processes to identify, implement, and maintain or improve the processes and will be responsible for ISO and Customer Audits.
Create metrics for CM processes and other processes throughout the organization. Analyze the metrics and determine where improvements are needed, define improvements, and implement improvements. Provides system reports and team performance reports, giving support to upper-level managers.
Provide support and training to other departments including Engineering, Engineering planners, Configuration Management Analysts and others.
Responsible for exercising significant discretion and independent judgment in making operational, financial, and strategic decisions that impact the organization’s direction and performance.
Responsible for processing Enterprise Change Orders and document Original Issues when department workload is high.
Manage Document Services activities and enforce company wide document requirements.
Continually audit various Enterprise Change Orders by verifying the intent of the change and ensuring redlines match what was implemented in SAP to ensure they are consistent.
Must understand business unit needs and adjust workload priorities accordingly.
Handles confidential and sensitive business information, including but not limited to strategic plans, financial results, and trade secrets.
Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
Other duties as assigned.
Works in standard office environment and uses general office equipment, also will need work in production area.
Overtime may be necessary in times of increased production.
Thorough understanding of ECO’s, engineering, and shop floor processes and materials.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to make independent decisions with initiative and tact.
Excellent analytical skills.
Must be able to negotiate effectively with internal customers to hold others accountable for compliance to configuration management processes.
Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing with strong and effective presentation skills.
Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Knowledge of industry standards relevant to ECO's, product assembly guidelines, product testing procedures, and electrical circuits.
Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.
Excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry and experience with PC applications, such as Word (word-processing), Excel (spreadsheet), ad hoc queries, and/or relational databases. SAP a plus.
Self‑motivated, proactive, exhibits an enthusiastic, confident and positive attitude.
Minimum 5 years above of experience in Configuration Management and/or related fields such as production planning, material control, records and information management.
Experience with ISO and Customer Audits.
Demonstrated success in implementing multi‑site support systems, processes and procedures.
Experience in applying data security and quality assurance processes, procedures and audits.
Experience managing or leading teams.
Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility.
MRP (SAP) training or background a plus.
Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Computer Information Sciences, or Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience.
Language on communication skill will be needed.
